And then I stocked up our freezer on Wednesday with all sorts of goodies. Read more about that here.

We should be well set as far as meals go through January. And with all the extra events and dinners that December often holds, it's possible our freezer meals might actually last through near the end of January.

24-Hour Giveaway: 5 Vaseline Sheer Infusion Lotion Sets

VAS10859_A6-3

Winter is upon us and with it comes the dry skin and chapped hands. But Vaseline Sheer Infusion lotion is here to erase those usual skin issues!

While many moisturizers only treat the top layers and leave your skin feeling heavy and sticky while others sink through quickly and don't fully moisturize, Vaseline Sheer Infusion with Stratys-3 infuses and suspends moisture across all layers of your skin for a long-lasting silky feel.

I had the opportunity to try all three variations of Vaseline Sheer Infusion lotion and found they definitely lived up the the claims made on the bottles. While all three smelled nicely and worked beautifully, I especially liked the Mineral Renewal variation.

Would you like to enter to win a collection of each variation of the Vaseline Sheer Infusion lotions? There are three ways to enter. (If you'd like more chances at winning, you can do each of them for three separate entries into the giveaway!):

24-Hour Giveaway: 5 copies of Family Feasts for $75 a Week

Family feasts

I recently had the opportunity to review Mary Ostyn's new book, Family Feasts for $75 a Week. I admit I was a bit skeptical about whether or not I'd learned much from this book, despite the fact that I have enjoyed Mary's blog, Owlhaven. Sometimes it feels like I'm scrimping and pinching just about everything I can out of each penny of our grocery budget and there's not much more I could learn on the subject of cutting your grocery bill.

But after reading this book, I decided that is definitely not the case. And my frugal friend Catherine agrees, as well.

Family Feasts for $75 a Week is packed with fresh content, step-by-step instructions for whittling down your grocery bill, and over 200 delicious recipes. I disagree with Mary's take on coupons (she only devoted a tiny section of the book to them and basically passed them off as a lot of work for little return!), but I was able to overlook that since there were so many other helpful tips and new ideas in this book.

If you are new to this whole frugal thing and wishing someone could show you the nuts and bolts of how to reduce your grocery bill, this book is most definitely for you. And those of us who are more the "old dogs" in the pack can definitely pick up a few new tricks as well--at least I know I did!

Want to read more about this book? Amazon has some very thorough reviews here.

I'm giving away five copies of Family Feasts for $75 a Week here today and there are three ways to enter. (If you'd like more chances at winning, you can do each of them for three separate entries into the giveaway!):

24-Hour Giveaway: $100 gift card to Pottery Barn Kids

Logo_pbk_ecom

A few months back, I was nominated for a frugal blog award at The Bump. Many of you were so thoughtful to vot for me in an effort to help me win $1000 towards our house fund.

I didn't end up winning the overall blog awards, but I won in my category so I received a $100 gift card to the Pottery Barn Kids. I've never shopped at Pottery Barn or Pottery Barn Kids before, though I've heard rave reviews of it, so I'd rather share it with someone who loves this store much more than me. 24-Hour Giveaway: 5 Stain Fighting Kits from Arm & Hammer and OxiClean

Products_KIT000014
If your household is anything like ours, you have lots of stains and spills. I'm a die-hard fan of Shout and it's one of the few items I actually will pay full-price for because its stain-removing powers are worth every bit of the few dollars the bottle costs.

Recently, OxiClean asked if I'd be willing to try out their line of products. Given that I'm sold on Shout, I didn't think I could be dissuaded. But I figured it wouldn't hurt to try, after all, I'm a big proponent of not being brand loyal if you can help it!

Guess what? We've gone through all four bottles of OxiClean that we were sent and I decided that they are just as good as Shout. In fact, I'm now going to compare prices and deals and will gladly snatch up a bottle of OxiClean if I can get it for a better price than Shout.

That's saying quite a bit--if you knew how loyal to Shout I've been for the past few years. But after countless stains of all shapes and kinds were removed and lots of clothes were salvaged, I'm sold that this stuff works well!
Products_KIT000005
OxiClean is giving away both the Stain Fighting Kit and the Baby Care Kit to 5 different readers. Would you like to enter to win both of these kits? There are three ways to enter. (If you'd like more chances at winning, you can do each of them for three separate entries into the giveaway!):
