One of our family's very favorite places to have our weekly dinner out is Cracker Barrel. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and--my favorite!--the prices are just right. In fact, our family can eat there for under $25 including a tip. It's a fun family "splurge" that doesn't bust our budget.
We've always been partial to Cracker Barrel, but in the last few months, I've become a whole lot more excited about this restaurant. Why?
It all started back about five months ago. I was talking with a few frugal bloggers who are attending the Blissdom Blogging Conference in Nashville in a few weeks. We were saying how fun it would be if we could coordinate a frugal blogger's get-together.
Well, one thing led to another which led to another and pretty soon, we'd brainstormed up the idea of the Savvy Blogging Round Table Dinner and Discussion. We mapped out the event--which now had morphed into a dinner for 75 people!--and we got ready to contact potential sponsors since we knew an event of this size wasn't really in our grocery budgets.
Cracker Barrel caught wind of our idea and, before we even thought to approach them about sponsoring us, they generously volunteered to be one of the main sponsors of the event! We were floored and we quickly accepted their idea.
The 75 tickets for this event were spoken for within a few hours, and many of you who wanted to attend weren't able to get in. However, never fear! We're hosting a Savvy Blogging Twitter Party on Thursday evening (January 21, 2010) from 9-11 p.m. EST and you are invited to come.
There will be loads of information on how to become a Savvy Blogger and there will be prizes--lots of prizes! In fact, once you check out the prizes being given away, I think you'll know why everyone's abuzz about this Twitter Party.
Cracker Barrel has also donated a gift basket for me to give away on my blog. This gift basket includes Cracker Barrel Coffee, a box of their Corn Muffin Mix, a box of Cracker Barrel Buttermilk Pancake Mix, 100% Pure Maple Syrup, Dickinson's Wild Main Blueberry Syrup, and some other fun goodies.
They sent our family one of these gift baskets and the girls and I made a really delicious batch of pancakes the other day for lunch. If there ever was such a thing as Cracker Barrel in a box, this was it!
Would you like to enter to win a gift basket from Cracker Barrel? There are four ways to enter. (If you'd
